◎简 介
赫伯特医生在和妻子成婚24年后分手了。一天早晨，他分开孩子，到医院值班。得了糖尿病的谢弗尔医生和一个护士关系暗昧，在他手上还出过一次医疗变乱。此日早晨，赫伯特医生发现谢弗尔医生死在病房的床上，很多人以为他是死于糖尿病。但接着，又有两小我古怪地死去：一位医生和一个护士都死在发现谢弗尔医生尸身的那张床上。这明显是谋杀。医院里民气惶惑，高枕无忧。这时，一个叫芭芭拉的女人到医院来为父亲打点转院手续，她的父亲得了失心症，为教会作出过不小的进献，是墨西哥著名的医生。赫伯特医生对芭芭拉很有好感。芭芭拉劝赫伯特同她一路去墨西哥。但赫伯特却发现：芭芭拉的父亲由于对于乱搞男女关系的极端敌视，便借失心疯之名（实在并不严重）接连杀死了三小我。为不让芭芭拉悲伤，赫伯特帮助芭芭拉将其父亲送到了墨西哥，而自己则留下来承当罪名。
