「やはり、この映画がコケたことで、佐藤健といえばマンガモノ、しかもアクションモノじゃないかということで、佐藤さんありきで『亜人』の映画化が決まったそうです。マンガそのものはまだ続いているのですが、原作に沿ったオリジナルストーリーになる予定です」（芸能事務所関係者）
マンガ『亜人』は2015年11月からは劇場アニメ化が、今年の1月からはテレビアニメ化もされている人気作品だ。
「アクションシーンも多いですし、CGを多用する作品になるでしょうね。撮影は11月から12月に行われるそうですが、アクションシーンは佐藤さんたっての希望で、スタントをほとんど使わない予定だそうです。まだ佐藤さん之外のキャストは、ほとんど決まってないそうですよ」（テレビ局関係者）
公開は来年の夏になるというが、この作品が佐藤と本広克行監督にとって正念場となりそうだ。
