◎简 介
故事发生在六十年月早期的印尼，盖伊（梅尔·吉布森 Mel Gibson 饰）是被电视台派往此处停止采访观察的记者。彼时，政府在雅加达刚刚建立，国内的形式一片紊乱，这让盖伊的采访毫无眉目，一次偶然中，盖伊结识了名为比利（琳达·亨特 Linda Hunt 饰）的记者，比利虽然身段矮小，人脉却四通八达，在比利的帮助下，盖伊起头逐步打仗到了隐藏在这个政府中的某些奥秘。
在雅加达，盖伊还相逢了吉尔（西格妮·韦弗 Sigourney Weaver 饰），一位美丽而又勇敢的自力女性，两人之间碰撞出了恋爱的火花。雅加达的大势不竭的恶化着，比利和盖伊之间的友谊亦由于各种冲突而发生裂缝。
