简 介
電力控制了20世紀生活的每一個層面，而主導人類社會運作的一切科技產品，也是非電力便不成行。一天，電力供應忽然中斷，每一件事都堕入了混亂：電燈熄滅、電視罷工、電話也一片死寂，在這突如其來、永無止盡的黑黑暗，人與人之間的連繫，開始逐漸崩溃，不法之徒趁機而起，每一個都会人面對這般情形，都是手足无措。
這齣帶有啟示的驚悚片，是新生代導演大衛寇普（曾為「侏羅紀公園」、「不成能的任務」編劇）的首作，描寫住在南加州近郊的一對夫婦麥特（凱爾麥克拉蘭 飾）與安妮（ 伊莉莎白 蘇 飾），一日早晨忙 偷閒，外出看電影，卻因電力中斷堕入一片混亂。好不轻易回到一片黝黑的家後，女兒抱病卻找不到藥房、鄰居趁機撩拨妻子、強盜趁虛而入......
導演企圖藉此片試圖檢討現代人類社會的疏離與愚蠢，試想，假如我們天天早上在黑黑暗醒來，社會能否會是以崩溃崩潰呢？
