简 介
1585年，此时伊丽莎白一世（凯特?布兰切特 Cate Blanchett 饰）已经52岁。她单身未嫁，政治手段已经很是成熟，处置国务也近年轻时驾轻就熟。她思惟开通，答应人们信仰罗马天主教。但是，却频频遭到苏格兰女王玛丽?斯图亚特的各种匹敌，玛丽甚至派杀手暗杀伊丽莎白得逞。
另一方面，女王还面临着西班牙这个宿敌。西班牙和英国之间的宗教差别，加上海盗活动疯狂的现况，使得二国冲突日渐尖锐，为往后的战争埋下伏笔。
罗利带着外洋新颖的探险履历在女王眼前出现，令女王多年尘封的心有了悸动。但是，女王的恋爱，必定了要屈就于国家的好处。
在英国与西班牙的战争中，女王展现出的强大气魄，把大不列颠推向霸主的光辉顶峰。
