简 介
接續前作“哥吉拉X機械哥吉拉”的故事，一年前與哥吉拉（Godzilla）的決戰，機龍（機械哥吉拉Mechagodzilla）受損水平37%，落空了右腕及終極兵器-絕對零度炮。
維修組員中條義人在八王子基地負責修復機龍的工作。某日中條在他叔叔信一的別墅家渡假時，嬰兒島的小美人精靈居然出現在他們眼前。小美人給他們一個忠言：人類用哥吉拉骸骨製造出機龍是個嚴重的錯誤，假如出動機龍，摩斯拉就會變成人類的敵人。於是信一設法說服老友也是身為總理大臣的五十嵐，希望能中断機龍的計劃。但就在此時，承平洋又出現哥吉拉的影蹤…
2004年是哥吉拉登上大銀幕的50週年，上一部作品“哥吉拉X機械哥吉拉”中，以1954年第一代哥吉拉的骨骸做成的機龍初次登場，與哥吉拉展開熾熱的戰鬥。在這次，哥吉拉同類的戰爭終於接近尾聲。關鍵就在曾經襲擊過東京的摩斯拉與嬰兒島的小美人。一向守護著摩斯拉與小美人的語言學者中條信一，將這個任務交棒給他在機龍維修隊任職的外甥義人，或許能感遭到哥吉拉系列電影的歷史承傳吧！
關於出色的戰鬥場面，象徵東京的名勝如國會議事堂與東京鐵塔等都被如數破壞，與之前的作品相較其迫力有過之而無不及。殊效方面更不在話下，電影裡人與人之間的豪情關連也是值得一看的地方。義人內心的糾葛，與操纵員之間的對立等等複雜的豪情也有許多深入描寫。
