简 介
森林保护者 刚刚落空母亲的少女玛丽·凯瑟琳“M.K”（阿曼达·塞弗里德 Amanda Seyfried 配音）乘坐出租车来到一座几近与世隔断的大森林。这里生在世他的父亲，一个深信森林里生在世矮人族的科学家，为了找到这些小生灵，他不惜牺牲家庭和婚姻。玛丽到达的那天恰好是夏至和满月，一个百年一次的特别日子。包围着森林绿色战争和的森林保护者的女王塔拉（Beyoncé Knowles 配音）将在此日选出继续人，但是他们的死对头Boggan人却要想方想法阻止继续人的诞生，这样即可以顺遂地将腐臭和灭亡的气味带到森林每一个角落。
并不相信父亲说法的玛丽意外卷入两个矮人族的生死纷争当中，而她也和数名森林保护者的勇士们负担起保卫森林的重任……
