简 介
家庭敷裕的波特蜜斯（芮妮?齐薇格 饰）至今已32岁了仍然未婚，而从小很喜好画画的她，多年来一向视自己所画的动物们为朋友。波特蜜斯的作品获得了出书社的认同，为她策划的是韦恩师长（伊万?麦克格雷格 饰）。韦恩师长一向被家中的两名兄长以为不是做买卖的材料，他要借此次机遇好好表示。波特蜜斯也希望做出点成就给母亲看看。
工作成长顺遂，波特蜜斯的书一本本成功出书，她与韦恩两人日久生情。韦恩师长在圣诞派对上向波特蜜斯求婚，可是他们的婚姻却没有获得波特蜜斯怙恃的附和。
一向以来波特的怙恃都想为她找一个门当户对的人，但他们还是为女儿的幸运做出了妥协。波特佳耦要求女儿与韦恩师长分隔3个月，看他们的爱情能否能履历考验。波特一家来到了农庄度假，时代波特蜜斯以手札的形式与韦恩师长相同，忽然她收不到未婚夫的复书，才晓得韦恩病了，当她赶到时，韦恩师长已离世了。
自此，波特蜜斯恍如落空了画画的才能，她要封锁自己……
