简 介
“他”（艾伦·瑞克曼 Alan Rickman 饰）是伦敦一位冷静无闻的图书编辑，履历了写作生活的惨重失利后，只能在工作之余写写诗，一边鄙弃着他平平无奇的工作，一边为已经的失利恋爱心胸遗憾，渐入颓唐中年。
“她”（艾玛·汤普森 Emma Thompson 饰）是“他”的 旧情人，分开他以后嫁给了一位极负盛名的作家，在巴黎过着鲜明滋润的生活。
分隔15年后，两人再度相约在之前常去的餐厅共进午饭。满怀期待赴宴的“他”却发现，餐厅已脸孔全改，已经熟悉的一切无迹可寻。“她”仍然亮丽，却少了他记忆中的样子，食品照旧，话题却不尽人意。这一切只是他沉溺诗歌的空想，还是他真的已经随着那老去的一切被抛弃了？
本片改编自克里斯托弗·里德（Christopher Reid）的同名叙事诗，墨客携该诗于2010年获柯斯达文学奖（Costa Book Awards）“年度代表作”奖。
