　　续集故事继续围绕杰克展开，他重回弗吉尼亚州的军事基地和苏珊·特纳少校会面，要处理一些小我题目。此时，特纳却意外被捕。杰克同时也堕入谜团，由于他被诬陷犯有重罪，而且牵扯到一个自己完全不晓得的小孩。这些，杰克都记不起来了。他要客服重重困难，去寻觅特纳，终极处理题目。
　　
　　克里斯托夫·迈考利本职是编剧，曾写过《很是怀疑犯》、《行动方针希特勒》、《致命伴旅》等片。作为导演，他此前只拍过《糊涂绑架事务》，后获派拉蒙和阿汤哥欣赏，编剧并执导了《侠探杰克》。接下来，他还要给派拉蒙拍《碟中谍5》和《侠探杰克：永不归》。
　　
　　《侠探杰克》预算5700万美圆，全球票房2.18亿美圆，算是一个不错的残局。可是，该片并没有收到好口碑，很多批评以为，“故事老套、有始无终、逻辑不够周密。”到第二部续集，制片方希望找新编剧来写剧本。李·查德以杰克为仆人公的小说有十多部，假如第二部能捉住更多观众，派拉蒙便可以继续把这个系列成长下去。
