　　孤僻的约翰儿时许了一个愿，希望他的玩具泰迪熊可以活过来，成为他实在的朋友。奇迹发生了，泰迪（塞思·麦克法兰 Seth MacFarlane 配音）有了生命，并和约翰一路生活了二十多年。现在老迈不小的约翰（马克·沃尔伯格 Mark Wahlberg 饰）无所作为，成天和泰迪一路吸烟饮酒吸大麻，过着花天酒地的生活。直到他遇上美丽的劳丽（米拉·库妮丝 Mila Kunis 饰），决心要改变自己。可是，泰迪却并不喜好约翰的新女友劳丽，总是处处给劳丽找麻烦，甚至破坏约翰和劳丽的豪情。面临陪伴多年的老友，和刚刚俘获的女友，约翰要若何处置两者之间的关系？他能否是能找到一个平衡点呢？
