　　伊拉克战争后未几，美国大选邻近。总统讲话人David Merch（Jon Tenney 饰）在某次采访中称希望在疆场上死去的兵士可以回到母亲身旁。总统选举准备组遂以这个“愿望”作为宣传噱头。
　　但没过量久，那些运回祖国的兵士尸身纷纷新生，以僵尸形状前往各个投票站。正当政客大举宣传这类神迹之时，僵尸兵士却在电视上公然表白他们的反战态度。大发雷霆的政客对僵尸兵士停止大举围捕和恐吓，Merch尽力压服政客，答应僵尸们投票。就在现任总统行将落败之际，政客经过计票舞弊赢告捷利。此举激愤长逝地下的历次战争的僵尸兵士，他们纷纷爬出坟茔，起头战争与民主的斗争……
