　　当奸细职员杰里米·瑞恩斯（斯蒂芬·道尔夫 Stephen Dorff 饰）从昏睡中醒来，却发现自己置身于一个密闭、黑暗的空间里。他能听到马达的轰鸣以及来自方圆的震动，似乎自己正被关在一辆车的后背箱内。他思疑由于欠下赌资而遭到报复，可是各种迹象表白此次绑架又跟赌博无关。后备箱内有LED计时器一次次倒计时，旁边还装备了无线电。经过无线电，他晓得另一个自称白宫外事部官员的家伙也遭到一样的报酬，绑架者的目标似乎想从杰里米口中套出一份严重的奥秘。对方了然他的一切，连杰里米的女友也尽在掌控当中。
