　　塔耳曼（休·弗拉瑟 Hugh Fraser 饰）是郝博特夫人的半子，他一向希望可以获得堂皇都丽的康普顿安斯庄园，但是他的妻子塔耳曼太太（安·路易斯·兰伯特 Anne-Louise Lambert 饰）却一向没有子嗣，这令塔耳曼将在庄园中横行的奈维尔视作眼中钉。很快，奈维尔的情人名单里添上了塔耳曼太太的名字，此时的他并不晓得的是，自己已经堕入了一个筹划已久的诡计当中。
