◎简　　介

　　为了对于黑社会，联邦观察局的捕快皮斯顿（约翰尼?戴普饰）不能不离别妻子和三个女儿，假名唐尼?布拉斯科打入黑帮鲁吉罗家属卧底。为了获得帮派内部成员的信赖，唐尼在头子“老左”（阿尔?帕西诺饰）的率领下，加入了一系列的犯罪活动，也逐步把握了他们的犯罪证据。
　　但是，长时候的相处中，“老左”对唐尼信赖有加，唐尼也见识到“老左”温情的一面，渐渐地对他发生了佩服之情，傍徨不定，不再向下级实时报告情况；同时，由于卧底工作的特别性，唐尼少少和妻女碰头，家庭生活接近解体。
　　此时，帮派内部的仇杀起头了，“老左”的下级黑桑铲除异己，掀起了一场腥风血雨。唐尼也将面临或“忠”或“奸”的决定。
